Hello everyone, I’m Tracey from Scotland. I was so encouraged by Silvia’s (Sweden) SAM talk last week! Wow! I hope one day I can be as articulate and joyful! So lovely and quite emotional to watch everyone doing so well!
Hello Tracey,
Welcome to WSSA. I too am from Scotland. I’m one of the hosts for the practice speech groups. You are more than welcome to come along.
I hope you get a lot out of the WSSA.
John
Hi Tracey. Welcome to WSSA. I’m one of the Certified Speech Coaches here, and I used to be a very severe stutterer. I really enjoyed Silvia’s talk on SAM. You can also get to speak like her. It requires determination, patience and working on your speech every day, as much as you can, but you can definitely do it.
I stopped stuttering in 8 months, and that was before this website was created. I only had Lee’s book and his help as he was my coach. But I can say that all the things we have here would have helped me a lot to become a PWSS faster: the videos of coaching sessions, the video courses, the SAM meetings, the Crutch Practice Group sessions, etc…
Feel free to ask us anything, we’ll be glad to help you. Have a great day, and we hope to see you at the SAM meetings and Crutch Practice sessions more often!
Hi Tracey,
So wonderful to have you. Yes, this is what we do every week. We have a speaker, who is a PWSS (Person who stopped stuttering) and we all get to hear how fluent and full of passion and joy they are. It gives those PWS hope that one can go from PWS to being able to speak in front of 30 to 40 people. Hope to see you at the SAM meeting this Saturday!
Thanks for all the replies and I will manage to attend the Saturday meetings from mid-July!
We’ll be looking forward to seeing you there, Tracey!
By the way, I am asking all the people I coach to watch the video of the last SAM meeting (the speaker is actually somebody from Scotland too), because, appart from the fact that the way he spoke was fantastic, the content is even better. He spoke about how he works on his speech and his daily regime. It’s really worth watching:
