Crutch Mastery Series

Hi all!

I recently became an WSSA member with the stuttering plan and would love to work through the Crutch Mastery Series, but I am not able to get to the Course. If I go on the related site, I can only “Get Access” where I can Sign Up all over again although I am logged in. I have read that the first session starts in january, maybe the series didn’t start just yet?
I hope this is the right forum for this question.

Hi, I think it’ll start in January, according to the description.

”As such, one Crutch lesson-update will be released each week, beginning 01/2021. This time-release approach will allow WSSA to keep updating the Crutches and give students time to master each Crutch.”

Hi Jennifer. Gábor is right here. One of these days it should be released. Anyway, if you’re a stuttering member, you can watch many coaching sessions (in the Video section of this website) and use the filters: “Crutches overview”, “Crutch 1”, “crutch 2”, etc. In the video course of the Stuttering book there are several lessons that focus on the Crutches too (Lessons 4 to 9).

I am still not able to see the videos for the Crutch Mastery Series, but every other course is available 🙂

Hi Jennifer, you’re right. The Crutch Mastery Series course is still not available. Whenever it is, we will let you know.
In the meantime, you can learn to use the Crutches, and master them, if you go to the “Videos” section of this website. You will see that there are multiple filters that you can use to search videos. Among those filters, there are several that might help you:
– Specific crutches: “Crutch 1”, “Crutch 2” …. “Crutch 13”.
– Tags: “Crutches”, “Crutches Overview”, “First coaching session” (in the first coaching session we normally overview the Crutches), “Speaking like a King/Queen”, “modulation”, “word linkage”, etc.

Doing this can be a pretty good substitute of this course.
