Crutch 5 – Tell a story about the feared word

Can someone give me an example of using C5 in a normal conversation… other than using it with a name or place?

There are not many other ways that you could use this crutch other than with names and places. Not sure if anybody else has a different opinion.

I remember an example (I don’t know if I’ve heard it in a coaching session or in a video course) which can be the part of Crutch 5.

Q: “What’s your favorite movie?”
A: “So… I really like this movie, I know it’s strange but the title is on the tip of my tongue, I can’t remember the name… you know it’s a sci-fi movie with replicants and has an original prequel in the 1980s… let me look at my phone… (show a picture) Oh, yes, it’s Blade Runner 2049, I don’t know why I forgot the title for a moment, so anyway, this is a movie about…”

Lol Gabor, that was definitely me. I am the biggest fan of “forgetting” names of things and then googling it and showing people the phone. This can also be looked at as the writing crutch (for the 2021 age lol). I actually wrote a blog on this.

You do not need a pen and paper nowadays as you always have your mobile on you. You pretend as if you forgot the word, google it and then go “aha”, and then show the other person your phone, with the option to say the word or even let them say the word. Most of the time, the other person will read out the word as that is the natural response to somebody showing you a word or number.

Nobody ever knew what I was up to as it came across as very natural. And the best part? I did not even have to say the word. Thank you GOOGLE!!!
